This was an incredibly sweet book.
When Katrina spots a homeless guy sleeping in the alley behind her grandmother’s coffee shop, she decides to leave him a cup of coffee, a bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans, and some pastries to tide him over. Little does she know that this random act of kindness is about to turn her life upside down. Because this adorable vagrant, Malcolm, is really a guardian angel on a break between missions. And he won’t leave until he can reward Katrina’s selflessness by fulfilling her deepest desire. Now if only she could decide what that might be . . .
This was a very sweet and charming book. Katrina kind of annoyed me though. I understand how she didn't know what she desired. But, she could have told Malcolm that, instead of telling him the wrong thing two times. And, not only did she do that to Malcolm, but she also wouldn't give him the time of day. And, Malcolm was being perfectly nice to her.
As for my opinion on Malcolm, yes, what he did would have made me scream and run away. But, what he did was also really really nice. But, I have to admit, when they mentioned a kilt, my mouth hung wide open.
This story had a very interesting plot. I mean, Katrina felt bad for a guy she thought was homeless so she gave him coffee and pastries. And, as a reward she gets her greatest desire fulfilled. Yes, it was drastically unrealistic . But, it was fun to read about. It also, in a way, teaches you that if you do good things, good things will happen to you.
Suzanne did a wonderful job writing this book. It had love, magic, confusion, coffee, and much much more.
I recommend this book. It is an adorable and quick read.
