The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

imageWho would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18C. Hadley's in 18A.

When I first heard about The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it or not. The title is long and sounds a bit mushy, which made me weary of the book. After a lot of people telling me that I needed to read it, I decided to dive in. I am incredibly happy that I decided to read it.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is an awesome book. It’s adorable, thought provoking, and completely addicting. I really liked Hadley, I found her easy to relate to and really well developed. The same goes for Oliver, though I especially liked him since he was British. I would love to know both of the characters, because I think we would get along great. These characters had brilliant chemistry. It was so adorable reading about their conversations and getting to know them and how they interact with each other.

I loved that a good part of this story took place on a plane. It made it so that you aren’t so distracted by where the characters are, which allows you to pay more attention to the characters. It really personifies Smith’s amazing writing ability.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is a delightful book. It’s adorable and will capture your heart from the very beginning. I strongly recommend reading it, especially if you like books by Sarah Ockler, Sarah Dessen, Susane Colasanti, or the lighter works by Elizabeth Scott.

I once sat in the row in front of two people who, in the time of the flight, fell in love and then went separate ways. Truly. You're right about the title, but it makes me think it would HAVE to be good!

I don't usually like straight-up romances, but the title actually grabbed me. Something about "statistical" made it seem a little more clever and quirky than your average teen romance. Can't wait to check it out!
